Leader don't always lead

Leaders lead. We all know that. We see them step up and effortlessly take charge. But with good leaders, that's not always the case. Look a little more closely at a good leader you know and you will notice there are times when these good leaders don't lead. They let others lead. They become followers. They become followers who are every bit as good at following as they are at leading when it's time for them to lead. When Leaders Lead When leaders lead, they share their vision and their excitement. They motivate their followers with their passion. Good leaders lead by example and, by doing so, they provide their followers a picture of what is possible. Why Leaders Don't Lead When you see a leader step back and give someone else the opportunity to lead, it's usually of one of a few solid reasons: training, delegation, or expertise. Training Leaders develop their team members. They help the team members gain new skills to help the team increase its ability to rea...

Build Self-Confidence

How to Believe in Yourself and Build Self-Confidence When it comes to success, nothing is more important and influential than self-confidence and belief in oneself. In fact, if we want to be successful, self-belief is more important than intelligence, talent, background, or just about anything else. In addition to this, people who have self-confidence and believe in themselves are healthier, happier, have better relationships, and are more motivated and resilient. There are many factors that affect our self-confidence, including our parents, our upbringing, our environment, our beliefs, past failures and successes, society, how other people treat us, the media, and our experiences at large. Research suggests that the beliefs individuals hold about their abilities powerfully influence the ways in which they behave and achieve (see Bandura, 1977, Parajes, 1996, p. 543). Interestingly enough, a lack of self-confidence is not directly related to a lack of talent, skill or ability. It i...

ACCEPTING REALITY

If you want to make any improvement in your life, you must first accept the way it is now. Don’t try to judge it and make it wrong. Don’t try to glorify it or distort the truth to make it more attractive. Just accept the way things are. I believe a lot of personal improvement comes from people seeing their current situations and finding pain in them. By seeing the situation as negative these people push themselves forward. And this method usually works. Extreme pain can often spur people to action and break them out of complacency. But this method also has a cost. Whenever you make your current reality negative or wrong, you feel a lot of internal pain. You may reach a higher standard of life for which you can be satisfied, or you may end up endlessly chasing goals and dreams never to feel any fulfillment or happiness. Personal development doesn’t have to be like this. When you accept your current reality, not deeming it good or bad, you start to see more clearly. You can see ...

Happy birthday, Priyanka Chopra

Happy birthday, Priyanka Chopra: The Baywatch star’s 10 best casual looks of 2017 Priyanka Chopra, basking in the glory of her recently released Hollywood debut Baywatch, is all set to ring in her birthday on July 18. Celebrating her birthday by vacationing with her family, the beauty will turn 34 this year. Throughout the years, Chopra has not just proven to be a talented actor, her fashion sensibility has often made headlines for being one of the best in town. From the geometric off-shoulder Ralph & Russo gown at the Oscars to the custom Ralph Lauren trench-coat gown at the Met Gala 2017 — she has carried off outfits with charm, elegance and most importantly, confidence. But clearly, it is not just her red carpet appearances that she has managed to make memorable. Chopra has come to own the pantsuit look, has managed to look sultry in lace with such ease, and more often than not knows how to wear gowns that compliment her curves well. On her 34th birt...

7 Tips to handle the Fear of Rejection

7 Tips to Overcome the Fear of Rejection What would life be like if you didn't care whether everybody liked you or not? Stop fear of rejection limiting your options. What does all fear really amount to? Loss. We fear: losing our health losing our life losing our status losing money losing our peace of mind losing our youth and looks. We also fear, perhaps more than anything else, losing approval from others. Fear of rejection is widespread. In tribal times, being ejected from the safety of a group could have meant death. No wonder many of us like to 'fit in'. Fear should keep us alert and safe - like the beam from a lighthouse warning ships of submerged dangers. But too much fear, like a super-beam of light blinding the ship's captain, can cause the loss of the very thing we feared losing. And this may be especially true when it comes to fear of rejection. Take Kelly; her fear was taking over her life and damaging her relationships. "I ...
